When planting your strawberries, make sure to pick off any dead or dying foliage. You should start with a healthy green seedling. It is also ok to pinch off some of the flowers. This will promote more nutrients and growth to the remaining fruit.
Strawberries do not require a lot of fertilizer and should never be fertilized while they are flowering or in fruit production. You should fertilize your strawberries in your Topsy Turvy® at the beginning of the season.
While growing strawberries in your Topsy Turvy® Strawberry Planter- be sure to water daily. It is important for them to have enough water. Without it, your fruit will be dry and hard. A great feature of the Topsy Turvy® strawberry planter is the drainage system along the bottom. This will make it hard to overwater them, keeping them healthy and allowing them to ripen.
To winter your Strawberries in your Topsy Turvy® Strawberry Planter, especially in very cold climates, it is best to move it into any heated garage or other sheltered cover. You must keep the planter slightly watered, but not heavily so. Check soil every two weeks to see if it is slightly damp. Strawberries will go dormant until next spring.
